About Frederik
I am a Belgian native from a town just outside of the well-know city, Brugges. Now living in the Netherlands, I recharge my batteries and keep my mind sharp with cycling, scuba diving, and hobby projects like rebuilding a battery-powered airplane or fixing up my ’63 Volvo.
From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by engineering and computers. While my friends were showing off their new flashy bikes, I had the latest x386.
When starting my career as an engineer, I soon realized that a solid level of computer proficiency elevated my engineering skills. This is how I transitioned more and more into the digitization of engineering. What started with the automation of repetitive engineering work became a framework for others to use in their day-to-day.
Why work with me
Over the past 20 years, I have worked with companies such as Boskalis, Gusto MSC, NOV, SBM Offshore, Arcelor Mittal, and Jan De Nul. During this time I honed my areas of focus in engineering and IIoT. I have a Masters in Electromechanical Engineering with an option in Industrial Engineering (energy conversion). Innately curious, I continue to participate in CPD programs for engineering as well IoT, IIoT, and NXOpen. I am a certified Microsoft Azure IoT Developer AZ-220 (score of 917) and certified in IEC 62443 security professional Industrial Automation & Control Systems.
